'Feels like home'. That is how our students describe their feelings on staying at UniKL RCMP

The Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition is an international contest organized by Headquarters of Confucius Institute/Hanban. It is well-known of its cultural and educational exchanges worldwide.  The competition is held annually in 80 countries all over the world. The competition consisted of three series of tests including Public Speech, Q&A session and Chinese Talent Performance conducted in this competition.

In Malaysia, Kong Zi Institute, University of Malaya is the main organizer for this event to select Malaysia representatives to participate in the Chinese Bridge Final Competition which will be held in China. This year, there were 30 participants from public and private universities all over Malaysia. All participants were non-native speakers of Chinese.

The theme for this year is “One world, one family”. Therefore, on 4th May 2019, three representatives from UniKL – RCMP participated in this competition. Nur Arifah Adlina binti Azman (MBBS Year 1) and Sarah Natalia Cheong binti Nazrin Cheong (Foundation in Medical Science) were awarded the excellent awards prize. Both of them received RM100 cash prize and certificate. Abdul Muhaimin bin Fathi (MBBS Year 1) was awarded the consolation prize with RM50 cash prize and certificate.

Overall, it can be said that UniKL RCMP students worked really hard in making sure that their participation ends successfully. Huge compliments should be given to our RCMP Mandarin Lecturer, Mr Tay Yang Lian and Ms Wong who had shown continuous support and offered guidance in preparing the students for the competition. Lastly, it is hoped that UniKL RCMP representatives will do better and won greater awards next year.
