The UniKL-MBBS programme was developed while we were running the MBBS-Malaya programme from 2001 through a collaborative Education Agreement. The temporary agreement allowed us the time to develop a programme that we think is able to address the needs of today’s global society as well as the needs of the medical students. Indeed, quality was never an issue as one of our first batch of students were able to graduate as one of the top students in the MBBS-Malaya programme.
When we launched our programme in 2006, the intake for MBBS (UM) programme was dissolved to put focus on our very own programme. A number of 112 students were taken for this programme and had since graduated in October 2012. In July 2011, an offshore medical programme with Vinayaka Mission University,(VMU), Salem, India, was launched. This is part of our effort to expand our programme around this region.  The first cohort of 48 students were enrolled under the UniKL MBBS colloborations with VMU, Salem, India. UniKL-RCMP is proud to have VMU as one of its collaborative partners due to its vast professional experience in the field of medical education.
And as we continue to strengthened our faculty, plans and strategies are currently being set to further expand our expertise and make our mark in the international scene.
