UniKL RCMP Faculty of Pharmacy and Health Sciences offers a pharmaceutical education in Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) that is progressive, contemporary, forward looking and comparable to the pharmaceutical programmes offered in the advanced countries. The duration of the programme will four (4) years. Students will get ample opportunities to develop their potential and creativity. Graduates are expected to be able to communicate effectively and manage medical-related issues and health of the community as qualified health care professionals.

 

This undergraduate programme is set up in accordance to the requirement and standards set by the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia, the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA), as well as reviewing the guidelines from various part of the world including the International policy and guidelines (WHO Guidelines) of Good Pharmacy Education and Practice. Various teaching and learning methods were designed to support the acquisition of knowledge, professional, management and soft skills. In general, the teaching and learning methods will include self-directed learning, traditional methods, practicals, clinical attachment, externship and also educational visits.

To produce competent pharmacists capable of delivering quality pharmaceutical care that promotes positive health outcomes while functioning actively as healthcare team professional.

PEO2

To foster intellectual curiosity and commitment to lifelong learning and contribute to the advancement of the pharmaceutical sciences.

To be the premier educational partner for collaborative health care opportunities and applied research ventures with communities, agencies, businesses and industries.

PEO4

To produce graduates who practice professionalism with ethics and social responsibility.

PEO5

To produce graduates who are equipped with technopreneurial skills and ability to recognize business opportunities.

 

 

Program Outcomes (PO)

 

The desired learning outcomes formulated are in tandem with the eight MQA learning outcomes domains:

 

PO1:  Knowledge

Demonstrate professional competency in providing comprehensive pharmacy related services, supplying medicine with pharmaceutical knowledge as well as performing pharmaceutical calculation correctly and precisely.

 

PO2:  Practical skills

Apply current skills and tools in delivering professional pharmaceutical care and appropriate approaches in the field of research and drug discovery.

 

PO3:  Social skills and responsibilities

Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of social issues and formulate effective strategies towards resolving related problems.

 

PO4:  Ethics, professionalism and humanities

Demonstrate an understanding and commitment to uphold the professional ethics in delivering pharmacy services to the community.

 

PO5:  Communication, leadership and team skills

Demonstrate leadership skills, able to work in a team and communicate effectively with patients, communities and other healthcare personnel.

 

PO6:  Scientific methods, critical thinking and problem solving skills

Apply evidence-based practices and current approaches towards enhancing pharmacy services, research and development and technopreneurial ventures.

 

PO7:  Lifelong learning and information management skills

             Display deep motivation and ability to engage in independent and lifelong learning.

Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM)

Minimum CGPA of 3.00 with Grade B in Chemistry

and

Pass SPM with at least Grade C in Bahasa Malaysia and English

and

Pass MUET with at least Band 3 (before graduation)

 

A-Level

Grade BBB, ABC or AAC in 3 subjects:

  • Biology and
  • Chemistry and
  • Physics or Mathematics

and

Pass SPM with at least Grade C in Bahasa Malaysia and English

and

Pass MUET with at least Band 3 (before graduation)

 

Ministry of Education Matriculation

or

Pre-School of Medicine and Pharmacy

Minimum GPA of 3.00 with Grade B in Chemistry

and

Pass SPM with at least Grade C in Bahasa Malaysia and English

and

minimum five (5) grade B each in:

  • Biology and
  • Chemistry and
  • Physics and
  • Mathematics or Additional Mathematics and
  • Another subject

at SPM level.

and

Pass MUET with at least Band 3 (before graduation)

 

Foundation in Science

Minimum CGPA of 3.00 with Grade B in Chemistry

and

Pass SPM with at least Grade C in Bahasa Malaysia and English

and

minimum five (5) grade B each in:

  • Biology and
  • Chemistry and
  • Physics and
  • Mathematics or Additional Mathematics and
  • Another subject

at SPM level.

And

Pass MUET with at least Band 3 (before graduation)

 

Diploma in Science (Biology/Chemistry/Physics)

Minimum CGPA of 3.75

and

Pass SPM with at least Grade C in Bahasa Malaysia and English

and

minimum five (5) grade B each in:

  • Biology and
  • Chemistry and
  • Physics and
  • Mathematics or Additional Mathematics and
  • Another subject

at SPM level.

And

Pass MUET with at least Band 3 (before graduation)

 

Diploma in Pharmacy

Minimum CGPA of 3.50

and

Pass SPM with at least Grade C in Bahasa Malaysia and English

and

minimum five (5) grade B each in:

  • Biology and
  • Chemistry and
  • Physics and
  • Mathematics or Additional Mathematics and
  • Another subject

at SPM level.

And

Pass MUET with at least Band 3 (before graduation)

 

First Degree in Science

Minimum CGPA of 2.75 @ Grade C+

 

Other requirements

  1. Applicants may be required to pass and aptitude test and/or an interview and/or university entrance examination.
  2. The selection of candidates will be based on merits
  3. All applicants shall declare if they have;
  • Been found guilty of any criminal offence(s);
  • Serious physical or mental illness; and/or
