Diploma in Radiography is a 3-year programme that grooms qualified radiographers in the expert use of medical imaging with various modalities. The field scope includes general radiography, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, angiography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT scan) and ultrasound for the purpose of diagnosing diseases and injuries. This course will qualify graduates as radiographers who are highly respected and in great demand in hospitals and medical centers throughout the world.

During the study, students will learn fundamental and professional subjects of human anatomy and physiology, general pathology, radiation physics, medical radiations, positioning techniques, sectional anatomy for medical imaging, digital vascular imaging, mammography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, systematic imaging, medical radiation science, radiation safety and biology, clinical training, image interpretation and principles in management.

Students will spend 3 years full time of study including clinical training at several government and private hospitals.This experience will expose students to the real working environment as a radiographer in hospitals in order to develop their confidence and clinical skill competency. Besides that, soft skills such as teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills also will be exposed to them during clinical training. These soft skills are vital to be inculcated among students since it will help them in developing good characters of excellent radiographer in healthcare services.

Ultimately, UniKL Royal College of Medicine Perak graduating radiographers will be able to contribute a host of essential services to healthcare industries everywhere in the world.

Entry Requirements

A pass in SPM or equivalent with FIVE (5) credits in the following subjects:

·         Bahasa Melayu

·         Mathematics

·         English

·         Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Applied Science and

·         ONE of any other subject

Applicants must have no serious physical or mental illness; and/or serious communicable disease(s) as per Malaysian Medical Council’s Fitness to Practice Guidelines.
