Diploma in Medical Imaging is a three (3) year programme that produces qualified radiographers in the expert use of medical imaging with various modalities. The programme of study includes general radiography, digital radiography, fluoroscopy, angiography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT scan) and ultrasound for the purpose of diagnosing diseases and injuries.
During the course, students learn about the following topics:-
- Human Anatomy and Physiology;
- General Pathology;
- Radiation physics;
- Medical Radiation;
- Positioning techniques;
- Sectional Anatomy for Medical Imaging;
- Digital Vascular Imaging;
- Computed Tomography;
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging:
- Systematic Imaging;
- Medical Radiation Science;
- Radiation Safety and Biology;
- Clinical Training;
- Image Interpretation; and
- Principles of Management.
This full-time course also includes clinical training at several government and private hospitals. The practical experience will expose students to the real working environment as radiographers in hospitals and help to develop their confidence and clinical skills competency.
Students are also exposed to soft skills such as teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills which are vital for developing a good overall character so as to perform as competent radiographers in the healthcare environment.
With such intensive and extensive training, our Medical Imaging graduates will be able to perform effectively in the healthcare industry in any part of the world.
